Hi everyone,
I went out to Chandler Memorial Airport on Saturday and took some photos of what is left out there. It's pretty sparce these days, but there are 3 PV-2s, a Howard 500 (I think), 2 C-130As, 4 C-54s, a DC-7, and a mess load of H-19s...
See the whole series of photos at:

Thanks for all the pictures and information Ryan.
There is a part of me that wishes I lived on that coast when I see the PV-2's, but the other part of me says "Hey, what would you do with it if you had it?"
"It followed me home. Can I keep it?"
just dreaming a little...

Rumor has it that a Douglas R5D Skymaster or two are available at Falcon Field (KFFZ) for anyone who can get them off the property. PM me or email me for details if you are seriously interested.

Thanks for posting the link to your photo essay,Ryan. It's sad that the boneyard is being evicted for "Future Development".Development may not be the root of all evil in this country, but it will do for now.I have a pretty good idea of the fate of most,if not all of these aircraft.Butler Aircraft ended up having both our DC-6 Tanker 68/N90739 and DC-7 Tanker 67/N6318C hacked to pieces and hauled off for scrap a few months ago mainly due to our leased ramp area being reduced for "future development. The last that I heard the remains were on the way to Korea (presumably South Korea) for recycling. Both of those machines were in far better condition than the ones at Chandler.
I believe that N130P is a Howard 500.A quick Google check of that number liked to some pictures from March 2006 that are captioned as a Howard 500 with a c/n 500-114.Also,the last time that I saw PV-2 Tanker 112 was at the Cody,Wyoming Tanker Base in August 1980.I was stuck there in B-17 Tanker 68/N3703G because the runway at my base (West Yellowstone) was being repaved.

Anyone have a contact #...I'd love to save a H-19for static if the price was right.
