in the last pic....... i believe that those are the boots that you were able to tear off the part above the ankle to make you less conspicious looking to escape & evade, by tearing off the leg extension it made the pilot look as if he was wearing ordinary shoes.

That's pretty cool, I'd never heard of those. But one thing, why would he need them if he's fighting over England?

No.... they are 1939 Pattern flying boots in the photo.
You are thinking of 1943 Pattern Escape Boots which are easily identifable by there shoe like toe caps and visible laces at the 'tear off' joint.

I should've asked if the RAF flew overseas during the Battle of Britain, and during the BoB was the only time there was an Eagle Squadron right? I'm not sure, that's just an educated guess.

The Eagle Squadrons were formed after the BOB. They primarily flew fighter sweeps and escorts along and into France. What may throw you is some ES members earlier flew in other RAF squadrons before the Eagles.

Thanks for the info ... I've always wondered just what in the
heyall kind of shoes/boots Don Gentile was wearing with flight gear in several shots I have. Some shots I have he's obviously wearing full boots, but in others he's wearing the boot/shoe get-up.
It's not the best picture due to it's small size here, but he's wearing that style in the 7th photo from the top (the one with he and Beeson):
