Has anyone ever raced a Skyraider at Reno?

Thu Nov 15, 2007 3:07 pm

I know Jimmie McMillian and Jay Cullum raced there AD-4N's at different periods thru the mid 1980's...

Wait...Mr. C's gonna race the Skyraider instead of the Sea Fury? Guess he figured he couldn't beat Mr. P & Mr. E at a straight race.... :)

That's gonna be exciting to see. I guess Reno '08 needs to be on my "to do" list. :)

Doug this is funny, because I was just looking at Rick's on Saturday wondering what it would look like with a spinner on it. Now I know! Not bad actually. Do you have any full shots of the airplane like that?

Hey, maybe if they clip the wings at the wing fold line, it'll get up & go.

Thu Nov 15, 2007 9:38 pm

Why do I get the feeling that Mr. Doug is pulling our legs and put the Fury's spinner on the Skyraider? :) :) :)

I wonder if the nosecone makes you faster than smell now? Would be kinda interesting to see if it really does make that big of a difference in performance.
