Mike R. already knows about it. Wing fold cylinder for SB2C. As found in an aircraft dump many years ago. I'd appreciate it if the "bandsaw crowd" kept their comments to themselves.

How does one go about joining a bandsaw crowd?

I played in my school band, and I plan on owning a circular saw. Unless it is another type of saw, I want to belong! (Don't we all want to belong?) : )

It's interesting to listen to others opinion of what’s scrap and what’s not. Twenty or thirty years ago salvageable parts were getting tossed because better stock existed. Today we're digging (Literally) for anything we can find. Moral: What looks like worthless junk today might just be gems in 10 years...and that’s been proven time after time.

Don't through those bent nails away folks, someday a notorious nail straightener like me or Mike will be looking for 'em!

What's wrong? That's rebuildable and a good find. Looks like the end where the hyd cylinder is a little bent but they can make e'm new but overall everything looks good. I would throw it in a weat starch or media blaster to se what you have ! Not Sand! Was it part of a training aid? or did you hack it out of a wing?

IT LOOKS TO HAVE BEEN REMOVED BY SUDDEN STOPAGE NOTE THE CHUNK OF WING STILL ATTACHED,MAY HAVE HAD POST CRASH FIRE OR WAS RECOVERED FROM SALTWATER BY THE LOOKS OF THE CORROSION BUT STILL A NICE FIND THANKS MIKE

Ohh how the coon dogs howl when I take NOS (salt water corroded, however) aircraft parts and run them over with the Snapper. I especially like doing the sheet metal panels with nose art. The sparks are so pretty.
