This story was in my local paper for Veteran's Day. A good story.

A very good story indeed Pilot06, thank you.

My mothers uncle, Dick Bishop, went through that same hell. He was right gunner on a B 29 (42-6408 "Reddy Teddy") shot down over Yawata Japan and spent the rest of the war in a japanese prison camp. He never spoke of it to anyone in the family. Ever.

Last year we learned of a book written by K.P. Burke called Proof Through the Night. It is about the experiences of her father Ernest Pickett, a B 29 pilot shot down over Yawata Japan. His plane was named "Reddy Teddy" (42-6408).

I highly recommend this book to all.
