Looks like you may have a mystery on your hands!

More photos in yet a different scheme: http://www.airport-data.com/aircraft/N255NA.html

Hm!

Always thought these were two different T-28s; now I see they're likely the same one...same registration at least. They (or it) came to the Hamilton airshow regularly in the late 80s. I believe it belonged at the time to CWH member Dan Springer, from Sault Ste-Marie, Ontario; Dan and his wife subsequently owned a pair of T-6s (C-GTEX and C-GTXN). Those more recent shots of JMT/N255NA in VNAF livery carry info indicating she's now in Texas...

Am I just behind the power curve here? The photo is of a 'B' while
the BDK link is of "Cs". :?:

Jack, can you tell from this photo?

http://www.airliners.net/photo/Untitled/North-American-T-28C/0930632/M/

Something smells here! Two obviously different T-28s with the same Canuck registration? :?

N255NA was clearly a C-model.

Hmmm...

I'm ignorant of the differences between B-C models so I'm of no help...

This is indeed interesting

How about this?

Take the registry entry...
http://www.warbirdregistry.org/t28registry/t28-513626.html

It shows Serial Number - 51-3626

Google that SN and get this hint... 2002 - Museum of Flying has a T-28"D" - NX5015L
http://books.google.com/books?id=4-fD8i0CHvYC&pg=PA456&lpg=PA456&dq=%22t+28a%22+%2251+3626%22&source=web&ots=RBfvVqoznY&sig=23PT0nUUGAGwYGPDkxD7QrL9FqY

Google NX5015L and come up with T-28"A"
http://www.airport-data.com/aircraft/N5015L.html

So is it an A-B-C-D? Fennec?

Gee Whiz..

I'm ignorant of the differences between B-C models so I'm of no help...

C is the version with the tail hook.
Both have the big engine Wright.

For those interested, C-GJMT is now a Piper Navajo and it is sitting in front the Lindair hangar at Vancouver Airport. Just a wee tidbit.

So, resurrecting an old thread but still looking at the mystery. I photoed this bird at Osh last year.

Image

The N number was N128AN. So I go to the FAA reqistry back then and there was nothing even reserved! So a few weeks ago I go looking at the civil registry again and find

http://registry.faa.gov/aircraftinquiry ... rtxt=128AN

So I go and do a bunch of googling (is that a word?) and find this thread. That leads me to look at the registration on N5015L and it shows

http://registry.faa.gov/aircraftinquiry ... rtxt=5015L

ANDIAMO 360 LLC comes up on both....So, the question is....Is N128AN the "new" registration for the former N5015L which is formerly C-GJMT? Has anyone got any idea if the picture above that I took at OSH is really 51-3626?

Thanks for any help, and hopefully we can resolve another mystery!

Wow...two and a half years ago...

There are several pictures of N128AN on Airport-Data. One photo of it (no N-number visible) in gray paint at a "paint shop" in Santa Maria, CA...

http://www.airport-data.com/aircraft/photo/386619.html

Would be interesting to find out the true answer on this one.

Thanks Dave!

Funny how some of us....WIXers...have these ID things that hang over our heads until they are solved huh....

Did I mention the other funny...the fact that defining lineage of some airplanes can get a bit confusing....Hey Randy or Dick Phillips, you know anything about that?......I know...many more of us still hunting details...Right TJ?

I have an airframe with a defined number given to it.....THOUGH...it does not exist......Ztex has a similar problem......

Anyone out there have an answer?
