Hey, you posted a link! Shame! :) Geez, why couldn't they have written "Patrol Bomber Consolidated" instead of "Patrol Bomber Y"? Y, oh, Y, couldn't they get it right?

It's sad to hear that Flying Fireman may be no more forever....

Bud has a pair of Convairs at Rickenbacker he has wanted to convert to fire tankers for years, maybe this will finally be the impetus for the State of Washington to help fund the project and continue a long (and prosperous for both parties) relationship with Flying Fireman and the Rude family.

Thats really sad. I live not far from the end of the runway. I always loved hearing/seeing it coming in low over the trees. I'm going to go up there this weekend and see if I can't get some photos before it leaves for good. (If its even still there) I've been wanting to do that for awhile now but been putting it off.

I look at this retirement on the bright side, maybe one day we will see it on the warbird circuit :D
