Magazine database?

Mon Nov 29, 2004 11:58 am

Hello guys,

do any of you know a software that I could use to make a database for all my mags?

I have a feeling that doing it with MS Excel is not what I want to do! 8)

I use Microsoft Access. I am able to search on serials and civil registrations mentioned in the various magazines. It might sound like a much work, but it is not so bad if you enter info as you get the new issues, and it works very well. WD4 and other similar books are very useful and are a must for any serial hound, but they do not cover everything. I like to use my database with collection "old" magazines to try and cover the rest.

Good. I never used Access, but I will install it on the laptop. How do I set up the database with it?

I set it up a few years ago, and haven't needed to change it since. I'll send you a copy of mine as an example. I'll zip the database, but it may be "large". Email me from the address you want me to send it to.
