After seeing a Flug Werk 190 fly for myself in Germany recently, I can assure you that you will not be dissapointed. Fantastic

Its a beautifully made aeroplane and the airframe is some 98% faithfull to the original.

Can't wait to see on in the skies over the UK soon

Thats something I was talking with some other WIXers about, Collings needs an adversary aicraft. A Fw 190 would do nicely. :)

I read in the other forum that it may not be possible for the 190 to fly in the UK due to prohibitive insurance costs and CAA possibly not allowing it also.
Be a shame if that happened.

Perhaps NZ could host the FW190 like the beautiful La9 we recently had.

Claus Colling really rolled out the red carpet for us. We met them at Nanching to see the flying aircraft, then went to there shop for dinner and a tour of the "factory". It's really impressive what they are accomplishing. There were two FW fuses in jigs along with completed wings and subassemblies neatly dispersed through the building. The 109 jig stands ready along side a completed rear fuselage section. The workmanship goes way beyond par in everything they are doing. It would be great to get them to tour thier FW with us next year...hook up with Kindsvater and is Buchon, maybe a 262...what an amazing sight that would be!!

I saw in a recent Classic Wings magazine that the La-9 is up for sale now... I hadn't heard that. Anyone know if it's sold yet, and to whom?

Cheers,
Richard

PS. Can't wait to see the -190 with the Collings heavies!

Still here at the moment, hopefully it won't be sold too quickly

Just to reitterate, don't believe everything you read on the Internet forums when it comes to negative statements from armchair experts on someone elses company and products. Pity these people don't send an email to the parties involved first, then ask and verify these questions rather that blasting off with what they think is the 'truth'. These rumours can be very damaging and frustrating for the parties involved to quash once they get out of hand and diluted with acid further down the line for good measure. The TAF Oscar project has suffered from the same type of 'expert' internet opinons of late without perhaps doing a bit of proper research first.

I feel very confident that we will see a Flug Werk FW190 flying in the UK in the not too distant future and I am sure that everything will be in order.

Looks like I'll have to meet the Collings group with my Focke-Wulf next summer!

Yeah, I'd love to see a 190 in Oz. Preferably @ a Tyabb or Caboulture show :) beacause I don't go to Avalon anymore.

I've been a lurker on this board for a while now, thought I'd better join up!
