Another P-38 Top Gun Is Gone....

In all the hubub of our house burning down a good friend of mine passed away and I didn't even know it until his widow called me the other day. L/C Dick Andrews won the Silver Star has a green horn FO P-38 pilot in the 96th FS 82nd FG when he landed in Romania on Aug 4, 1944 to pick up his flight leader and then they flew to Russia. Dick also flew a 100 mission tour flying F-51Ds in the 39th FIS in Korea and also did a non flying tour in VN.
He was a no BS, tell it like it is, P-38 proponent.

Sorry Jack. I know how you feel. Thanks for the honor of sharing with us your friendship and personal loss.
You bring to life so many names and faces that we would never have an opportunity to experience. When they are personal friends, all the more special.
