Spike! TV, formerly TNN. A show called Maximum Exposure is getting ready to show the Corsair/Bearcat collision at Oshkosh.
Im not sure anyone wants to see this, I know it makes me sick to my stomach everytime I see it, but I thought I would let everyone know
It is on at 4PM Central Time

Yes it is sickening to see it, especially since I knew the parties involved in it. It did happen however, and we should not ignore it. Maybe seeing something horrible like that will cause future airshow events and warbird operators to conduct operations more safely. We cant afforrd to loose any more warbirds and human life is precious too.

No one was killed in the accident but Ladd Doctor (sp?) was seriously injured.

His correct name is Laird Doctor (pronounced Ladd) and is paralized from the chest down.

I'm not sure anyone had a chance to see it. Usually, the show Maximum Exposure trivializes and pokes fun at such events, but in this case, the show's account of the tragedy was relatively tasteful.
The clips they showed were the highest quality footage I have seen, and there were multiple angles. You can see that the other Corsair pilot brought the tail up quite a bit earlier that Laird, and was able to get the Corsair off the runway to avoid hitting the second Bearcat, although I think I heard that the F4U-5 involved sustained substantial damage was well.
If anyone would like to see the clip, the episode was called Crash! Bam! Boom! (or something to that extent). If you search TV guide periodically, you can see if it will be on again soon. Spike! TV tends to replay programs quite often.
