Bristol fires at Omaka, Blenheim.

Fri Jun 13, 2008 12:41 am

First time in 20 years one of the Bristol Hercules attached to the Freighter ran today, in fading light
The aircraft has been long time club room guard at the airfield, second engine should turn this Sunday, just before the bar opens ;-)
The aim is to taxi the aircraft for Classic Fighters air show over Easter 2009 and is the 'baby'of one of the local aircraft engineers who has nothing better to do in his spare time

Cool! You can never have enough round engines running. Forgive my ignorance..is the intent to eventually get the aircraft back into the air?

Steve

No plans to fly it, that would require a huge amount of money and time, so 'same old same old'
Taxi is the best we will be trying for.

Steve, and others,

For the full story of this amazing restoration of a gate guard back to life, you can read the FULL story from beginning till now and see some nice photos on my forum here:

There's nine pages to read, but very entertaining and as you see above, it has a great ending...
