One for the Aussies - Lake Boga Wrecks, Anyone have info?

While going through some of my notes re wrecks in Lake Victoria for another topic posted, I came across some reference to "several wrecks in Lake Boga causing some navigational hazards for local sailors".

It appears that when the lake gets low some larger type sail boats have made contact with objects beneath the surface (no, not the bottom of the lake and not empty beer kegs!)

Has anyone heard of any stories, rumours of wrecks in this lake?

I know it was used for Catalina's and there is an example of this type of aircraft on display there, but could one or two have been lost in the lake itself?

I have pondered oer it a few times apparently some Cat's were scuttled there after the war,i have been told this from someone who did it.
When the water is low people used to stand on the wings,and also there was a big storm whivch wrecked a lot of stuf there.
I am told the water has a high salt content,but i dismiss this as the water is used for irigation of crops.

I have heard the same stories.

I am also hopeful that someone scuttled a Dornier there as well - we really need one and I believe there were one or two written off there.

Well worth exploring.

Any thoughts on where to start with this - A Dornier would be very desireable given the history of the Australian /dutch examples
