I know you've all seen this before and I normally would not post a link but this was sent to me in my E-mail and I still think it's worth a watch, especially seeing the progress the guys are making on the B-36 at Pima

Check out the dark areas on the horizontal stab behind #3 and #4 in the scenes towards the end where the airplane is passing in and out of clouds.

What causes the dark streaks on the HS? Oil leaks (and probably some exhaust stains too) from the engines.

I've always wondered if someone stationed at Carswell or someone on the movie crew took home movies of the Mantz B-25 cameraship making the formation takeoff with the B-36. Now, wouldn't that be an impressive film!

The startup sequence and takeoff from Carswell has always been one of my favorite clips of that movie. After they break ground and start going gear up you can see a large tan colored church with a silver roof in the background. We used to drive around the Convair plant on weekends in the late '90s just to snoop, and one day we happened on the church. It looked exactly as it did when SAC was filmed with the exception of a few large trees that were probably saplings during the filming.
