This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Hi all,
Just got back from a great day at Genese. A total of 5 P-40's showed up today but only 4 of them flew. It was the greatest number of P-40's I ever saw and it was amazing. The day was great, very hot, and had a 10 minute rain shower that passed threw. The best part of the show was when the 4 P-40's flew one behind the other and swung around behind the croud from the right. Low and fast one at a time it was AWESOME! And the sound? Well, the sound of all those Allisons roaring was thrilling!.
I ment up with Scott and the other WIX'ers. Also met up with a few from other forums. It was a fun day. I missed the group photo but me and Eric stuck behind becasue the P-40's were rolling out and we did not want to miss them flying.
So anyway I know many of you are waiting to see some photos so I will start out with each P-40 that was there.
Enjoy,
Nathan

My wife and I have completed our first day at Geneseo and it was great. The sun and heat drained us but we have our tickets for tomorrow.
Nathan, great pictures and a couple looked like we were standing close by. We were just to the left of the P-40s.
Seeing all the warbirds flying was a thrill. Looking forward to tomorrow if the weather holds.
Does anyone know the story on the C-47 that was towed down the line yesterday? It was parked by the re-enactors today.

that C-47 has been based at Geneseo for years now. It was owned by David T.

I was at Geneseo a couple of times, once with Sentimental Journey and the Heinkel and once by myself. I think it can truely be that that if you haven't been to an airshow on grass, you haven't been to an airshow. I'm not trying to take anything away from other shows, but there is something magical about an all grass field.

Hey Eric it was great seeing you too. I only wish we had more time to chat. But there is a small possibility that I will be going to Thunder over Michigan.

So the warbird year for me might ot be over yet. I am not full from warbirds yet..I need more in my system.
Again great seeing you Eric.
Cheers,
Nathan

Ok, We are home,
I was hoping for a report from the trenches for Sunday?
We had Breakfast with our group of WIXer's offsite and headed home.
We arrived here at around 5:30 pm with a stop in Albany for lunch.
The rain o the way home was pretty heavy, both bands of showers having come from that way. Hopefully it cleared up in the afternoon.

We went to the show today but nothing happened until early afternoon when the rain stopped. A short show followed and no P-40s flew. The most flying was for departures. We enjoyed Geneseo and its on our list to come back to.

Nathan, thanks for the photos and info for those of us who were not there. I didn't have too bad a day, I am in Boulder and just got back from flying a Grob 102 glider.
Peter, I really like the morning shots, it looks like GRRRR illas in the Mist.
