Perryville, MO

At the Perryville Municipal Airport, MO, there used to be a couple of McDD A-4 Skyhawks.

These were located at the Sabreliner side of the airport, and the last time I saw them, was probably in 2004.

I drove by the Perryville airport today, and the A-4s were not there.

I believe that I saw inside a hangar, what looked like a T-34C but I could not tell for sure given the limited viewing angle.

Across the airport however, was this MiG-something or another (I believe it is a LiM-6?)

Its a Lim-5, US registration N69RB.

Yes you saw a T-34C, in fact there are about 9 inside the hangar receiving depot level maintenance.
The A-4's are in different stages of work inside the large hangar, there are four of them there.
There is also a T-39G (buno 160055) that is in the final stages of completion of depot level work, and about six C-21's in various stages of depot level maintenance.

Next time you're thru the area, check the airport at Cape Girardeau as one of thse A-4s is now there on display.

The A-4's at Sabre are A-4L's, and the gate guard at the Cape is a TA-4J.

Thank you, guys.

I approached the front desk to ask for permission to take photos of the A-4s, without knowing where they were at that point.

The receptionist was really nice -and cute- and provided me with a name and phone number, but the guy who could have authorized my shooting the pix, was in Chicago, on business.

Going back there is going to be difficult unless I stay in the area for a while longer.

I'll check the Cape's airport next time I am headed to Memphis.

Are the BuNos known for the A-4s at Perryville please?

The A-4a belong to Bob "Snackbar" Schneider, Tallichet was also involved at one point. The T-34Cs are US Navy, apparently Saberliner is going to rework them. The T-6IIs are slow in coming.

Actually the T-34C's are undergoing routine scheduled ACI's. The Navy has two T-6A squadrons at NAS P'cola. The -34's are from Whiting Field and Corpus Christi. Some of the ACI's are also performed at Greeneville, SC.
The ACI's are quite involved and reoccur at 48 month intervals.
The Navy will begin phasing in the T-6A's further in FY 09. The delay has been to equip the USAF first since they paid for the majority of the R&D on the platform.
