beech 18 torpedo bomber question

I have a charcoal drawing of a beech 18 or similar dropping a torpedo at a Japanese destroyer.it is from some company promo of some sort or similar(ads,pamphlets,etc.etc)The plane is wearing early war insignia with red center of star.Army air i'm guessing? So now I wanna know ,What model beech would be dropping a torpedo?anyone know?

Are you sure that drawing is not a Lockheed Ventura? 
If it is the picture I am thinking of, it should have an upper turret and a ventral gun position as well. Aircraft approching from left, destroyer steaming right-to-left?.....yep, PV-1. Fanciful for sure but never happened, picture was an illustration for the Erection and Maintenance manual.

They did make 2 prototypes of an oversize Model 18 called the XA-38 Grizzly Beech Model 28...Beech says it was not based on the 18). It was twin-tailled and powered by a pair of Wright 3350s (2300 hp). It would have been armed with a 75 mm cannon with torpedoes as an alternate weapon.
Basically, it looks like a narrow B-25.

The Dutch used modified Lockheed Electra's or Jr's has light bombers during the campaign in Java and the dutch East Indies early 1942. Could this be the subject of your photo?

Yep.....PV-1 Ventura. I've never seen that one before though! Can you scan it or take a fully cropped photo of it and email it to me? I'd like to include it in our historical archives. What is the story behind it?

I will be happy to send you a better pic.just give me a little time to round up a better camera.it is also now out of the cheesy frame and will copy better.I found this drawing a few weeks ago at an antiques swapmeet.once I saw it,I had to have it.and got it for a good price to boot. Tim

The XA-38 was built right here in Wichita. It had 2 20mm cannons in the nose, 1 75mm cannon in the nose, and 2 turrets w/20mm cannons in the tail (top and bottom). If you look at other pics, you will see that the only thing like a '18 is the tail and wings. It looks nothing like a B-25.
