Fantastic pics, PNG recovery of P-40's, Beauforts etc

A member on my NZ aviation forum has been posted a swag of excellent photos that he's taken and collected over the years, most relating to NZ aviation. There are some amazing shots of the Lancaster and flying boats and floatplanes and all sorts, but I think the WIX community would be most interested to see his photos he took while on a recovery mission in Papua New Guinea where they recovered P-40's and Beauforts.

See the beginning of the thread here, it's worth working your way through as there's lots to see.

Wow! Great shots! I love pics of the recovery process and the stories that go along with them. Thanks for sharing them!

So what was the finally tally in aircraft pulled out of this area?

I'd like to know numbers myself but like most of these things I don't think we'll find out. All I know is there are a lot more restorable Beauforts in these photos than I ever knew existed. Shorty says they went to the USA. So I guess they're all stored there?

I assume that these are from the Darby/Tallichet recoveries of the 1970's.
