I know its not a piston popper but this is one badass engine.I found this website with some great photo's that some of you might find interesting,I use to turn wrenches on these badboy's and I will tell you it would rip you apart inside on a full Military run. I remember doing a leakcheck on the stand and you would approach it like a pitbull,when we would brake one down it was always fun when you get some residual triethylborane,watch your feet.It was just an amazing piece of engineering for its time. there is also some recips. also, hope you enjoy.

Dave, it was frustrating enough just being a Mechanic but when your in a stand, and you got a J58 running in one stand next to you and an F-100 in the other, the only way you can communicate with your fellow workers is with hands and facial expressions, sometimes one finger, it could be quite interesting.there was nothing more annoying than changing a tailcone inside a augduct and you sit on a air ratchet ,left plenty of hair inside them.
