Does anyone know if this is tucked away in a museum, or did it become a beer can?

Since I've never heard of this airplane in a museum before, I'm guessing she was melted.

According to the book Cobra! by Birch Matthews Bell made two of these Bu# 90061 & 90062. Flying test beds, NACA @ langly field kept one after Bell was done with them, Bell kept theirs for testing the wing for the X-2.
I too would presume they were cut up being that was the "norm" back then. Would be cool if one was still around :D
BTW, is that pic photo-chopped? cuz the exact same one in the book shows a man standing next to the RH wingroot. Just curious???

I think the Smithsonian has one of these in storage at Silver Hill. It has the airfoil of an F-86!
