This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Years ago a man told me he was an engineer on a project for a single engine B-17 with a 4360 engine. Any truth to that

Maybe one of the JB-17G testbeds?

"Liberty Belle" (44-85734) was converted back to a standard bomber configuration after service with Pratt & Whitney.

Seen here with a T-34 turboprop fitted in the nose...

Compare the N#s (N5111N) -- the "single engine B-17" in the photo is actually the aircraft that later became "Liberty Belle."

Could he be mistaken?
There are picts of the Wright JB-17
with an R-3350 Cyclone and a Constellation
cowling on the nose.

If it was true, then where would the landing gear be?

It really doesn't matter if it existed at all, cuz after i get done with my model version of it, it wont really matter to me.

So Kenlyco was just pulling my string as i suspected. I just went along with him because i figured he would be exposed. The engineer told me that thee AC never flew and the project was scrapped at the end of the war.
Kenlyco will get the same thing for Christmas as he did last year! Nothing! nada!
I hope this is not a trend starting around here. Ask a straight up question and some goob photoshops ya!
