The VF-9 photo was taken at the conclusion of the 1st combat cruise Aug 43-March 44. The VF-2 was after their 1st combat cruise also March 44-Sept 44 with 27 aces! The VF-27 was taken at NAS Maui prior to their 1st deployment.
