This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

The West Texas gunnery/bombing range thread got me thinking about what 1950s/1960s warbird jets (and?) might be still sitting on little known ranges around the country.
I worked in a photo processing and development unit at the Idaho Air National Guard in the mid-80's. There was a range east of Boise we sometimes processed photos of that had, as I recall, some F-84's and T-33's clearly visible.
The China Lake stuff has always got lots of press but one wonders about the other old ranges.

If you ever fly between Gila Bend, AZ and Ajo, AZ, you have to fly down a corridor under the restricted airspace of the Goldwater Range. If you look off to the West, you can see F9F Cougars (I think) painted Gloss White to mark the edges of the Range. I'll see if I have any pics still........

The Dare County range in North Carolina stocked up on some fresh A-6 targets about 5 years ago.
