2 Blue Angels grounded for inappropriate relationship

sounds like one of the pilots got caught checking the oil of one of the ground crew.

"stunt pilots "

It will be pretty apparent which pilot got caught since they are going to fly with 5 for the last 3 shows !

Ok, is "inappropriate" because someone was married or Single Officers & Single Enlisted can't date, etc.?

Regards,
Mike

I fail to see where they should have been let go from the squadron.

Seems like bad PR, too; the missing plane will remind everyone of the impropriety, whatever it was, for the rest of the season.

If either one was married - they are both toast.

I don't know how serious the USN is on 'fraternization' these days but it is likely to be an officer/nco deal?

Fri Oct 31, 2008 10:51 am

Inappropriate contact (fraternization) with an enlisted member is a very serious offense, and (as I understand it) kudos to the Blues' CO for his decisive action - especially with these guys ... their job is to be representative of the officer corps first, then great sticks.

"PR" would be payback h-e-l-l if it came out later that this was known but hushed up and/or the pilot continued to fly. Most likely they'll call up a recent Blues alum to refresh and then fill the gap ... but maybe not if they've only got a few shows left.

According to the UCMJ depending on what you're doing, you naughty boys and girls, you can have inappropriate contact with your spouse
I fail to see where they should have been let go from the squadron.

It's a violation of Navy regs for one thing and prejudicial to good order and dicipline.

We had a president do worse and nothing happened to him.

The Blues are supposed to be the best of the best. They have standards to maintain.

....it was my navy but .....

They have a job to represent themselves and their country. Things happen but the Blue Angels are suppost to be the best. Try and live up to that standard I say.

So all in all I think some action should be taken. IMHO.

So where does having a relationship mean that they aren't the best. They are humans, and people work together sometimes end up in a relationship. I don't see how this reflects on the squadron at all.
