You might be a Warbird fanatic if...

You run outside to look every time you hear the throaty roar of piston Aircraft overhead!

The purr of a Packard/Merlin makes your heart skip a beat.

The missing man formation brings a lump to your throat.

You get angry when you see warbirds off in the weeds at airports just rotting away.

...any more?

...when your in your house and hear a piston and you run trying to get to the door and in the porcess you break a chair, knock over your sister and get jammed in the door trying to get out. Yep...I had it happen!

Sorry to hear, Nathan...there is no cure, just regular treatment! Hope your sister understands and get out of your way if she hears engines now! Sisters CAN be trained, just takes repeated sessions sometimes!!

..also when you try to follow a flying B-17 from the road. Me and my dad spotted Fuddy Duddy flying our area and we descided to follow her in my dads car. But we ended the chase when driving in a hayfield was out of the question! No lie true story!

Heh heh...some things never change.

When I was about 6th grade, I heard radials approaching outside. I ran for the back exit of our house, but my hand missed the latch and I went crashing right through the screen of the door. My parents got to me just in time to see the CAF's Ju-52 chugging over our backyard at a few hundred feet.

Thank goodness there's no known cure!!

Ahhhhhh the good ole' days of navigating a busy street while keeping your eyes fixed on a Warbird right above your Windshield! I remember being in the back seat of my Grandparents Chevy Caprice as Sentimental Journey and the He-111 came over head. Both me and my Grandfather were fixed on the two bombers as they passed in front of us, while my Grandmother was yelling to watch the road. The only time I got to witness those two Arizona based birds, right in my own backyard! Those were the days.

A shame they haven't come this far East again. A shame we lost that Blitz Bomber. A tragic shame we lost those lives.
