Perhaps I could help out with that..........how about Bowmore?

Lagavulin, Ardbeg and Laphroaig...

All have a very "smokey" flavor from the peat.

Third one - there are seven active ones you know:

Lagavulin
Ardbeg
Caol Isla
Bowmore
Bruichladdich
Bunnahabhain
Laphroaig

Plus Port Ellen, which is no longer distilling but provides the malt for most of the others.

Intriguingly, there are also two 'new' ones in the pipeline from Bruichladdich; Octomore and Port Charlotte, which 'replace' two of the same name that are no longer with us.

So that makes ten (hic!) Three indeed!

Perhaps a forum meet on Islay for a couple of days!

Just a note; if you like Peat, dont go for the Bunnahabhain or the Bruichladdich which are lighter, but still good. My fave is Caol Isla, I have a bottle of unchillfitered, which is superb.

You guys forgot one...

Knockando 18 and 21

And there's

MacClellan (spelt wrong) 12,18, 30. That 30 bottle is steep though.

I have a Springbank 30 year old, and a Stillman's Dram that I managed to hide from Mr. Jones. Very smooth

Springbank 30, I'm going to have to find that one and try it out.

The best that I've ever had though, was the Knockando 21......hmmmm,I wonder if theres a Knockando 30? I never bothered to check.
