Great shot!

Interesting to see that the spherical enclosure around the gun barrels is either painted or metal, rather than clear plexi.

Some gorgeous young blonde bass player put me on the spot last night and asked me my favorite airplane. It's this one. Said she wanted to be an astronaut and learned to fly gliders at 14 and got a pilot's license too. Now she's a musician.

I have always enjoyed the way the Marauder's bomb bay doors look when open.
In this shot that Jack posted, looks like a lady pulling up her skirts.
...insert ribald joke here...

wow.. very cool shot...

I've never seen a shot of a b26 from that angle..
nor one that has both bomb bays open and dropping at teh same time..

as a side note.. I see the lower rear machine guns were open in this case..
I wonder how often those were manned or used? any commentary would
be most enlightening... :-)..

I've always heard that the aft bombay was seldom used. It was usually wired shut, and used to store extra ammo for the machine guns.
