Any Top Gear fans?

Fri Dec 26, 2008 1:02 pm

Just got into watching this show in the last few weeks, what a fun show to watch.

Were is the Top Gear track?? I know its a air port but what one? I noticed a C47 in the background and the old control tower seems familiar, it was also in the Da Vince Code.

Been dowloading the seasons non stop for the last few weeks looking for the one with the 3 TR IX Spitfires any idea what season that one was? their web-site dont seem to be much help.

All in all a funny show, unless your American, them seem to not like American made cars for some reason :(

As mentioned it's the fomer British Aerospace factory at Dunsfold in Surrey, where the Harrier's had been made.

As you watch more and more, you'll discover that Jeremy likes very few vehicles that get test driven on the show. From teeny econo boxes to Ferraris he's sort of the Gordon Ramsey of the garage-not the first guy I'd invite to the party

Not quite. Jeremy rarely LOVES a car. He likes a lot of them though. The current series (season) they do a test drive of 3 US-made Muscle Cars, a Vette, a Caddy, and a Dodge. In the end, they all love the cars and agree that the cars are finally on par in handling (except the Dodge) to the European cars they test much more often.

I have been a fan since season one.

Only bad thing is we always had to wait a month before the new episode was on TV here in Norway. But now I download it 15 minutes after the show has ended:D

Did you see the one were they bought cars for $1000.00 in Florida and drove to New Orleans? I love the image of the Welcome to Alabama sign with the gun shot holes in it :D When I lived in Florida in my younger days that was great fun on a friday night. Firearms and road signs

Thanks for the info

The show with the 3 spits is from the current season on BBC America, and hasn't aired yet, though you can find clips of it online.

Been watching Top Gear for as long as I can remember. One of my favorite shows. Here is the Britain v Germany clip with the Spitfires http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=KQBKcuMR7-4&feature=related
PS Jeremy does not like US cars because they dont go round corners well!! I can second this by experience

They had the episode I mentioned earlier where they tested the new '09 Vette, CTS-V, and Challenger up on YouTube to watch, but now it's been pulled because BBC has put a copyright claim on it. The episode changed Jeremy's thoughts about US cars. You'll just have to wait for it to air I guess since anyone outside the UK can't get the full episodes on their internet player.

Absolutely love the show! Even my wife, who is not a car person, will watch it for the pithy commentary, beautiful cinematography, and generally fun stuff they do. I also love the fact they integrate planes in quite often... like the Eurofighter vs. Bugatti Veyron race!

I was worried when Richard Hammond was involved in that horrible jet car accident last year and I was worried the show wouldn't be the same, but now that he's back and seems pretty much at 100% back to health, I am happy again.

And now that I am driving a 5-speed for the first time in my life (with my "new" '99 Miata), I can appreciate the sport of motoring!

We don't have many corners here in the US. After driving in the UK though, I can see why the Brits appreciate sports cars- every intersection (roundabout) is a skid-pad!
