Besides the one that I think is blocked in in Topeka, KS, does anyone have any idea where I might be able to get one outside to shoot it for my next book?

The only other two I even know of are the one displayed at NMUSAF and the one in storage at NASM.

Great pics, Nathan. You don't see too many O-47s in camo. Most had been relegated to hacks by then. Somewhere I've got a pic of a very tired one being used as a mechanics' trainer.

Planes of Fame is restoring one as well. It will have most parts from a swamp crashed example and some from the Planes of Fame crashed & burned example. Unfortunately is is not completely assembled at this time.

Is the swamp one the one they had found in Louisana or someplace like that in the 80's? I saw a flying one at Minter Field around 1984. Is this the crashed POF plane?

The one you saw at Minter was the one that crashed in the early 80s.

Here is the swamp one taken yesterday:

when is it going to drop the guppies?? the 1 on floats must have had a drag factor worse than 10 cinder blocks

Well, it's better than an open observer's cockpit underneath! Might get a bit oily down there.
