Rod Lewis adding more planes to his "Air Force"!

Tue Jan 20, 2009 7:41 pm

It's just been confirmed to me that Rod Lewis bought all 3 of Mike Brown's airplanes for sale - the two Sea Fury's and the Tigercat. Now Rod has 2 flying Tigercats!

Does anyone close to the Lewis camp, know if he intends on racing any of those 3 planes again at Reno this year or any details we might like to know, (if releasable)?

There is just no keeping secrets around you guys anymore. The secret owners association will have to move their convention next year. Maybe to Groom Lake!

Maybe there will be a new Republic of Texas Air Force since we no longer have the Confederate Air Force! Less offensive to some, too!

it must be nice to have more money than god!

Those will come in handy if it becomes necessary to secede ! :D

Wouldn't it be easier to bring Reno to San Antonio than take all of Rods' planes out there. More to do and see in SA anyway.

He sure has the WIDE OPEN space to do it out at the ranch :D Might need a few more runways for emergency's and such? I think this is cool he's doing all this :D

He needs another Citation so I can fly it.....

I would like to see a definitive list as well, as I don't think one has been published, AFAIK. I have a feeling there are probably a few planes he has that are not public knowledge yet. I do know that Stewart is his "go to guy", who is always traveling, looking at warbirds on Rod's behalf.

I sure hope that Rod Lewis builds an air musuem or airport somewhere in South Texas to display his superb collection for the public. Well, at least his warbirds get quite a bit of exposure at airshows, though. I AM thankful for that, at least! :)

It would be easier to list what he don't have.

I heard Stu Dawson is going to fly Fury for Mr Lewis at Reno this year if Mr Lewis does not feel comfortable with her at PRS this spring. Rad

I can say that I know at least one of the pilots that fly for him (they come down to our field sometimes!) and they DO want to have a museum. They actually are looking for a good field with good facilities. Right now I don't think they have either in combination. Oh, and lest the jokers join in, I think they like this area.
They're good folks.

I know Stu flys for Rod, but how can he fly his Fury and Rods at the same time?
