A Salute to the Aircraft of Grumman

Should have at least the following flying I'm guessing...

F3F
F4F/FM-2
F6F
F7F
F8F

Any guesses as to how many of each? :wink:

Sounds really exciting! I would love to see all of the Grumman series - F3F through F8F, along with the J2F all flying in formation. I don't think that's been done before at Chino. If it has, I've never seen pictures of it.

What a formation that would be! :D

There should very easily be at least 2 of each because there are that many in Southern California and the surrounding states.

Some, like the F4F and F8F, should be pretty easy to get 3 or 4 of.

C'mon it's gotta be Ducks, Gooses/Geese, Widgeons, Mallards and Albatrii/Albtrosses! After all how else do you get a flock of tough plurals up? :lol:

I'm with JDK on this one, Albatrosses or bust. Two is the most I've ever seen in one place, once at Arlington in '97? and once at Bellingham when some Australians were there getting type rated on it to fly it back to Oz. The other one being our very own N97HU.

Maybe they could do one of those crowd things where everyone holds up a piece (normally a paper sheet, here something different) that 'makes' a picture - on this occasion it 'makes' a chopped F-14? :lol:

Seriously though, I'd like to be there.

Speaking of......does anyone know the status of the second Bearcat owned by POF in Chino ?

Last I saw it was close to be done.

I'm going to guess 1 F3F, 2 FM-2, 3 F6F (Friedkin, Pond, CAF), 1 F7F, 2 F8F, 2 TBM. That's actually a normal year for them; with a little effort they should be able to do even better. The real fun, as JDK says, is to see how many waterfowl they can bring in. How about a Mohawk and Tracker/Trader also.

Does POF even own a Bearcat?

I forgot the Duck and yes, POF does have an airworthy Mohawk.

The Skytypers are at Chino and have a bunch of Tigers- that should suffice!

P.S. Yanks still has one F-14, not airworthy of course.
