Warbird Depot February Desktop Calendars

The February 2009 Desktop Calendars are now available from the Warbird Depot website; http://www.warbirddepot.com/desktop_calendars.asp

This month includes:

1. Chris Woods flying his North American P-51D Mustang “February” over Prescott, AZ. "February" is painted to represent Lt. Jim Brooks' P-51D from the 307th, 31st FG, 15th AF in which he downed 13 enemy aircraft.
2. The Collings Foundation's B-24J Liberator, being flown by Carl Riese and Jim Harley, during their annual "Wings Of Freedom" tour over Eagle Field near Dos Palos, CA. The bomber is carrying several veteran WWII B-24 pilots and crew members during this flight.
3. Jack Roush flying his recently restored N.A. P-51B Mustang "Old Crow" for the first time, after a 5 year rebuild, over Salinas, CA. Recovered from a lake in Florida, Roush had this rare Mustang rebuilt by Cal Pacific Airmotive and incorporates the first Malcolm Hood to be installed since WWII during the restoration.
4. John Cicero flying his Duane Cole converted Taylorcraft Special-T. Seen over Sonoma County CA, it has six feet clipped off of each wing, an inverted oil and fuel system, and is powered by a 150 hp Lycoming O-320.
5. Rob Gordon's 1941 N.A. AT-6A Texan, being flown by Bernie Vasquez with Philip Wallick in the back seat, over the Sonoma County hills outside of Santa Rosa, CA. This Texan was previously operated by the South African Air Force as 7656 and is a regular at the Pacific Coast Air Museum's Wings over Wine County Airshow each year.
6. The Flying Bulls' beautifully restored Lockheed P-38L Lightning "N25Y", being flown by Nelson Ezell with Ladd Gardner in the back seat, during a flypast at Breckenridge, TX.
7. Vought F4U-4 Corsair N6667 (BuNo 97259 c/n 9413) "Lancer Two" race #22 taxiing out during the 1968 Reno National Championship Air Races in Reno, NV. This aircraft is currently on display with the EAA in Oshkosh, WI.
8. Ray Dieckman rounding pylon 2 in Dr. Robin Crandall's Hawker Sea Fury FB.11 "Sawbones" at the 2008 Reno National Championship Air Races in Reno, NV.
9. The Foundation Dakota Norway's Douglas DC-3 (C-53D) "Dakota Norway" seen at the 2008 Flying Legends Airshow in Duxford, England.
10. 355th Fighter Wing (355 FW) Fairchild A-10A Thunderbolt II demonstration at the 2007 Reno National Championship Air Races in Reno, NV.
11. An EVA Air Boeing 777-300ER landing on runway 28L at San Francisco International Airport.
12. Robert "Hoot" Gibson rounding pylon 2 in Bob and Robin Miles' Aero Vodochody L-39C "Robin 1" at the 2008 Reno National Championship Air Races in Reno, NV.

by the way...

It doesn't look like there's much room in the back seat of the Red Bull P-38.

As always, such great shots !!! I use at least one monthly. Thank you so much for providing the calendars.

It was good to see Ladd in his Dad's former steed.....knew it had happened, good to see the picture.
