There's a story to go with the Wellington testbed for the jet engine. The pilot had seen some P-47s at low level so he dived down to their level shutting down one piston engine while keeping the jet running. Due to the speed picked up in the dive the Wellington overtook the Thunderbolts (a type not noted for speed at lower altitudes) with one propellor clearly feathered. The Americans were startled to see a fabric covered bomber overtake them with ease! The jet was still on the secret list but the test crew couldn't resist pulling that little trick on our allies.

Cutaways....hummmmmm....

Did not even see it the first time. That's it.........another day scrapped :D

BTW....with all the discussions on copyrights......Just hoping I'm posting my stuff with enough "references" to make it cristal clear that I am just providing a link. No more / No less.....we'll with a slight opinion once in a while.
