It now in Germany, should be flying to Austria this week.

Heard that from my uncle, he said that they shipped it intact!!! Just wondering how they did it in one piece. If anyone has info, let me know.

They did not ship it intact..................they took the wing tips off

The ship arrived on march 5. at the Airbus Plant Finkenwerder. The Lightning left Finkenwerder on 7. but did not reach Salzburg due to bad weather. Some pictures at Finkenwerder:

heh...I remember taking one of the wing tips off that plane.

at reno, we had to remove a piece of sage brush from it...back in the good ole days of air racing! I have a picture somewhere in my slides if I could just get that old slide scanner to work with XP...

the sage brush has been variously incorrectly identified.....we did take 21 ft of barbed wire fencing off of it one other time at reno ... I miss the old wild west Reno, but then its a lot safer now, which is why I now volunteer on the ramp rather than being directly involved in racing. After working with john Paul one year I found out the real purpose of the races....to fly fast and do things the FAA would not like ordinarily, but even more importantly to HAVE FUN and not break anything!

What is the software program that allows the thumbnail pix (on Nelson's web site) to expand and shrink by clicking on the pix?

It depends of the website.

On the Ezzel site, it's made in flash directly coded in the design of the website.

But there is other way more easier to have similar stuff on a website, (like Javascript)

I sure would love to have a copy of that picture. My buddy Rick Ebert, & I changed out that wingtip in Harlingen. I still have it. :shock:
