Looking for static warbirds to join us

Wed Mar 18, 2009 5:41 pm

The Alberta Aviation Museum in Edmonton Alberta hosts a major event each year known as Airfest. Think of it basically as an airshow without the flying as our airport is in the centre of the City of Edmonton.

This year is the 100th Anniversary of flight in Canada and we are looking to add 1-3 feature warbirds to this years presentation.

Last year Pacific Prowler joined us and had a great time but is not able to join us this year.

We don't have a large budget but would be interested in hearing from operators that would like to join us and see if we could make a deal.

We would be interested in aircraft like:

B-25
Mustang
Spitfire
P-39/63
P-40
Harpoon
etc.

Or similar interesting aircraft

Thanks

Sorry about the website, server crash.

For you and everyone else...apologize I forgot to put on the date.

June 26-27-28, 2009

We typically have an arrivals day and event on the Friday (June 26th)
A sponsor event Saturday night (June 27th)
Airfest being the Sunday (June 28th)

418 "City of Edmonton" Squadron is one of the organizations in our facility and it's members are always at our events.

The when is as above, the place is Edmonton City Centre Airport in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

Love to have the Harpoon up as we have the Ventura Memorial Flight in our facility and they have been working for years on their PV-1, sure you guys would have a blast with them and the rest of the Associations that share the facility.

Look forward to hearing from you!!!

If you have time in July we might be able to line you up with other stops in the region and make the trip even more worthwhile

Let us know.

Anyone else???

Tom

I'm still trying to find 1-3 Warbirds interested in coming to Edmonton for our June 26-27-28 event to do static display.

D.Hansen is looking at it with Attu Warrior and I look forward to hearing from him, but there has to more of you out there that would be interested.

I'm not looking for a freebie, I know what it cost to run these machines and while I don't have a large budget I'd like to try and make at least 1 or 2 deals to get warbirds on our ramp.

Interested in most stuff...contact me if you are interested.

Never thought to give up on you guys, waiting patiently, I know there is a lot to work out.

P-40 would also be a great addition, lots of Canadians flew them and would appreciate seeing it.

As an aside the Lockheed predecessor to the Harpoon, the Ventura, was widely used in Canada so the PV-2 will get a great reception as well.

Can you send me your e-mail with other dates you are available from late June through to early August and I will cross check against other events in the region...might be able to turn this into a great tour for those that want to get involved.
