Great pic.
Interesting serial number placement on the wing.
The left corner looks to me like another C-47, but I wouldn't rule out a B-18.

When it arrived at the Air Zoo, the XP-55 also had the serial number stencilled on the underside of the wing opposite the insignia. I believe a lot of stateside military aircraft had the serial number painted on the wings as a "buzz number" to discourage low level flying.
The blotching on the wings and tail was medium green. When applied it was lighter than the Olive Drab, and intended to break up the outline of the aircraft. Unfortunately, the OD quickly faded to leave the blotching darker, which ends up emphasising the outline of the aircraft..the opposite effect from what was intended!

Another Wright Field C-47A s.n 43-15979. I guess someone started stripping the paint off at some point. She was later converted to a EC-47N.
