"Over the Front 1914-18" new AWM posting

Sat May 16, 2009 5:43 pm

For those interested in WW1 the Australian War Memorial has recently added additional material to their webpage for the "Over the Front 1914-18" exhibition. This is the exhibition that includes the audio visual presentation put together by Peter Jackson and Weta Works for the AWM. The most recent addition to the webpage is about half way down and is a link to original WW1 silent movie footage that was assembled by the AWM and provided to Peter Jackson as guidance to the type of material they wanted in the AV production. Some of the footage shown did make it into the final production, cut into the modern material produced by Jackson. It is hosted on YouTube and also copied over on another free view server.

Certainly something for those who like the early days of aviation.
