B-17 Veteran George Prezioso

Sun May 31, 2009 12:09 am

I'm sure everybody here will want to join me in saluting George Prezioso, who celebrates his 90th Birthday on May 31, 2009. George flew as a radio operator in B-17s with the 43rd Bomb Group, and later with the 317th Troop Carrier Group. In all George Prezioso flew 535 combat hours and 72 missions. He returned home in June 1944.

The photo on the left shows George in July 1943, safely back at Port Moresby after the ditching of the B-17 Black Jack off New Guinea. On the right he is in the Collings Foundation's Nine-O-Nine late last year.
