Olympic museum selling skyraider

What is prompting the sale of this one? It is one fine looking plane. Are they funding the restoration of other airframes?

Yes it is. Bob Pond had it a while(never do recall seeing it at Flying Cloud) and sold it to Wally Fisk, who sold it to the Olympic Flight Museum after he shut down Polar.

Actually, Bob Pond had it. Then it went to Lone Star down in Galveston in a trade that included the C-47. That's how Mr. Pond got the B-17 as I recall. Then it went back up to Wally Fisk and finally came to Olympia.

I've spent many happy hours in that airplane!

That would explain why I never saw it at Flying Cloud, I never knew about the Planes of Fame East until after Pond had the B-17.
