I've heard that several P-38 wrecks and stuff was buried at Burbank airport during and after the war.

Yup. I have two horizontal tips. "Supposedly" have them sold, but waiting on the money to arrive. So, they're still here if anyone wants them (and no, they're not cheap either).

Oh leave the McGuire P-38 alone. We are all very proud of "faux Pudgy" at McGuire. At least there is a historical context for the aircraft being there- McGuire was local, and his parents were very involved with the base. Sorry the plane isn't flying, but there are a few others which are. And the a/c is taken care of routinely. Why not go chase down the owners of some of those aircraft which sit unloved and unattended for years at nearly every GA airport, and get those planes flying!

I couldn't resist with everyone chiming in on who has P-38 parts. I only have a nut plate from "Glacier Girl", so I guess I'm just jealous!

I wonder how it ended up in the UK
I wonder if more details are in
