B-17 Air tanker borate tanks

Hello to you all,

I am an aviation freelance writer who is currently working on a piece for a magazine about B-17's used as fire bombers. During the research process, I am needing some information as to how a borate tank was " plumbed " into the belly of a B-17 and how the hydraulics may have worked. Any information would be greatly welcomed at this point.
