I was wondering about Turkey and WW2 era warbirds. Just off the top of my head I know that they operated, Spitfires, Focke Wulf 190s, Blenhiems, and P-47s. I am sure there must have been others. So what happened to them? Did the Turks just use them up and scrap the rest? Did any survive as gate guards? What about crash sites? I think parts of Turkey are pretty wild and unpopulated, any wreck chasing going on? Any rumors of old hangars or stocked ware houses full of relics? I do know there are a couple of museums with some pretty interesting stuff.
