This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

While browsing through my book collection, I came across Joe Cupido's Chino: Warbird Treasures Past and Present c2000. He includes a 4 page list of the aircraft (complete with military serial and/or N number) that Dave Tallichet has owned at one time or another. Here's a summary list: 166 warbirds! Dennis, this is the short list right? No Ki-61, Ki-43, AT-19 ??

Possibly. I just reported (summarized) on Joe's research in his book. He says that there's possibly some airframes he missed. And as you've pointed out, some airframes are not listed. The list is still very impressive in it's sheer size. I've seen other lists that have tried to come to terms with Mr. Tallichet's massive acquisitions and I know Rob R. is working on a complete list with David's cooperation. I think I also read somewhere on WIX that "Classic Wings" also has a list being published soon?

Latest Classic Wings has a report ( disposition and history where known)on the airframes acquired through a loan deal with David, your issue shouldn't be too far away as it was out here last Friday.

Could somebody maybe supply me with contact detail of Dave Tallichet. He might be interested in a Hindustan HT-2 that I have for sale?

I know that several years ago, when we had the AMHF Harpoon at Geneseo, NY, Mr Tallichet came thru her on a tour. When he finished, he sais that he had several sitting out in the weeds, and he thought he was going to have to pull one out to restore and play with.

i believe dave got his play money by marrying into the dupont family. (paint company owners) regardless, he is a true champion of the cause.

Tallichet also owns a number of restaurants, including Baby Doe's here in Denver down by Mile High stadium, and USED to own the old 94th Aero Squadron out by the old Stapleton airport (the airport now gone, the 94th long since burned down)....used to be able to listen to the tower/pilot communications on headphones in the restaurant at nearby Stapleton, I always thought it was one of the neatest restaurants around as a kid...

he also owns the 100th bomb group restaurant across from cleveland hopkins international airport. recently moved & rebuilt after a runway expansion here. looks cool from the road, but yet to sample the grub & atmosphere. the old place was cool though, so i'm sure the new 1 can only be better.

He also owned a Stearman Senior Speedmail, his example was noteworthy because of its history as an ex-American Airlines mail plane and instrument trainer. (I wonder if Ernie Gann flew it?).
He saved it after a hard career as a crop duster. It is owned and flown regularly by a friend who restored it in the 80s.
I had a chance to fly in it awhiler back and it's a great plane.
