Mystery Kissimmee Birds Identified

Tue Mar 08, 2005 8:41 am

In my set of Webshots albums I have one set aside for pics of airframes that I have not identified. Every once and a while someone comes along finds the album and identifies one or two.

It is a good way to go fishing! ... This week I got a good haul.

A gent by the name of Lorence identified a number of the Kissimmee birds in the album. A few of them have even mystified the WIX gurus including Mr. Rohr. So I thought the WIX might be interested as would Scott be for the registry...

There is/was an A-4 in the main hanger at the Reilly facility...

...apparently it is BuNo 149608. Is it still there after the hanger damage?

The MiG-21 with the weathered Russion red star on the tail...

Here is the "unknowable ID", the former Harry Doan F9F...

...which is actually an RF-9J with BuNo 144406.

And then there is the F-4 Phantom hulk...

...which I thought would never be identified, but I was wrong.

Of course everyone it welcome to take a crack at identifying others. Feel free to visit the "Unidentified Airframes" album at...
