Scumbags

I'm agreeing with the article that most likely it was taken for an air boat--someone probably needed a new motor and didn't want to buy one.

I hope they are caught.

That is really stupid. What stupid, stupid people.

I hope they get caught, or they come to their senses and bring the engine back.

Indeed a STUPID move. I would think a high profile theft like this would make it hard to "move" the product. Cutting the cowl and the engine mount....really a bright bunch, perhaps the same ones that stole several hundred feet of Rail Road wiring, you know, the kind that makes the red lights flash so no one dies when a train comes!!! Same town. Hope it shows up, seems an awful lot of "work" to go through.

Has to be someone who KNEW the engine was just sitting there, and knew how to get into the building.

I suggest when found, Kermit kets the opportunity to cut their arms off!

Catch 'em and take 'em for a ride in the Apache Princess......as live practice bombs. Scumbags.

Aw c'mon. You guys are so insensitive! What if this was stolen by a poor unfortunate without medical insurance to pay for his momma's operation?

Thu Aug 13, 2009 11:45 pm

hope it wasn't ripped off & sold for scrap. that is rampant these days, school bleachers, manhole covers, copper piping ripped out of foreclosed homes, on & on. these are the sign of the times!! it sucks!!

definately an inside job, inside meaning a discruntled employee....inside scene..

Scumbags!!! It had to be either someone who was very familiar with the facility or an inside job (which I don't believe). Hope the engine is returned soon without any more damage being done to it.

I don’t know any of the facts in the theft but did he have an alarm system in the building monitored by a security company? I am afraid I don’t trust my fellow man very much. Way too many years in police work.

In Polk City? A monitored security system is a loud dog and the owner with a 12 gauge!
