Anyone have further details?
The FAA accident run this morning says an FG-1D, N9964Z
(BuNo 92468) landed gear-up at Las Cruces on Saturday.

According to the NTSB database, N9964Z had two incidents
over the years.
One in 1974 when it collided with another aircraft on
the ground (taxied into it) and in 1982, an oil line came loose
after a loop and it was put into a field gear-up.

It missed the Corsair Gathering in 2002 for the same reason. Now it will miss this years gathering, not good, very sad.

I hope everything turns out ok and the pilot walked away. I wonder if CAF Corsair/Tracey was there? She would probably have the news on what happened.

Was just talking about insurance the other day with someone and was told it has tripled since 9/11....The CAF isn't helping the situation I'm sure.

How hard is it to flip a lever and extend your landing gear? Apparently harder than it seems, cuz SOMEONE forgot to put the landing gear down on the CAF Corsair at Los Cruces, NM this past weekend (unless it was a technical p[roblem and the gear would'nt extend....but word is it was forgetfulness)....this happened to the Corsair a few years ago when Ray Kinney forgot to put the lever down and dropped it on sans landing gear...
Wonder how long it'll take to fix this little faux pas?

Why do so many people constantly pick on the CAF? This incident occurs, and it's cracks about insurance, which most likely wouldn't happen if it were any other operator. Accidents happen, that's a fact of life. Who they happen to isn't important, what's important is that no one was injured(at least according to the preliminary data from the FAA).
