Well, what a superb event. The decision to put the aircraft in the paddock for closer inspection was truly inspired. It was a lot of extra hard work for the engineers but it really did make for a superb event. Ass to this the lack of wind and clear skies and it meant we had the first proper “Shuttleworth Evening” for a good few years.

Ok on with the aviation. Paul Stone in the Provost put one on of the nicest displays I have seen in this aircraft.




It was nice to see an aerobatic Tiger display


And a very nice PT22 display






I really liked the Fournier display, echoes of The Skyhawks

It doesn’t get any better than this at an airshow anywhere on the planet. A very big thanks to everyone who worked particularly hard at this event to make it so special, but credit has to go to Andy Preslent for the inspiration.

One or two very fine images there indeed Nick... especially the SE5 heading off into the moon, and the last couple with the Avro triplane in the pink sunset... really wonderful, and evocative images. I loved the people shots too... I can't believe I've never been to a Shuttleworth show... shame on me!

PS. I thought you caught a fascinating moment too with the Piston Provost being passed overhead by not one, but two airliners... what a fascinating coincidence, but very well framed on your part!

It's not so much getting lucky, but recognizing your luck when it occurs and seizing upon it. You have a happy talent for that. Many thanks for the offer too... hopefully I'll be able to take you up on it some day. Keep posting those lovely photos though!
