The Great Georgia Airshow - Press Day & Rides

Tue Oct 06, 2009 12:19 pm

If you are around ATL this weekend feel free to look me up at the rides tent...we're already lining up quite a few rides in the SBD and other Dixie Wing a/c. Regrets the P-51 Red Nose is down for get a new powerplant but if you want to have a sit in it I could arrange that...

Rich and other WIX photogs...let me know if you are around the ATL area on Friday. We have press/media day in the morning with performer practice in the afternoon...a good oppty to get some pics w/o the crowds.

In addition we host special-needs kids from the surrounding schools that day..they love the aircraft noise! Please reply directly to this post for more details

:spit2

And don't pet Aileron the cat at our facility...he tends to be grumpy with strangers; that's why he is a good backup security system!

I thought all flyable CAF airplanes were supposed to be in Midland this weekend for the annual Airsho, as per the assignment agreement that each Wing signs.

???

Just curious.

Scheduling Conflict - AirSho & GGAS

Tue Oct 06, 2009 1:53 pm

Hey there Gary.....in an unfortunate bit of scheduling it turns out Airsho and our local ATL airshow where the Dixie Wing plays a major role were set for the same weekend... :(

We normally make the trek to Midland with all of the birds but this year was a bit of an anomaly with the dates as well as the Red Nose being down to replace the powerplant...takes a while to wind all those rubber bands to get it flying again!

Okay. Thanks for the explanation. Was just curious.

Hey there Robbie...hope to see you there.

When I lived in Peachtree Corners it was easier to fly to Peachtree City than to drive...racked up quite a few PDK-FFC-PDK C172 entries in the logbook.... :spit2
