Griffon Powered Spitfire Replica?

I understand Andrew Keenan's Griffon powered Jurca spitfire replica has been sold... This airplane looked like it was close to flying from the pictures on the Legend of aces website.
Anybody know what's up with this? any pictures?

Wow! Sounds like a real rocket ship. Is the wing solid wood all the way through?

I do think the plan was for a 5 blade prop. If you have the chance to see the construction photos you can see that the entire airplane is VERY stout. Bob Defords Spit replica was built using the same plans and it sure turned out to be a very nice airplane....

Hello all,
Yes Andrew Keenan did sell the MJ-100 Spitfire project to Blane Trent out of Pittsburgh, PA. Andrew originally planed on using the RR Griffon engine for the project but was having problem locating parts for the counter-rotating propellers and sold the engine and went with the original design Allison 1710.

Andrew is in the process of finishing the wing for Blane, I sure it is about a year away from its first flight.

I participated in the build of one that was to have a Jaguar V-12 auto conversion. Unfortunately the project was broken up when the owner suddenly died. Some of the parts went into Bob DeFord's aircraft as I understand (the Claus Colling built landing gear?) and the basic airframe was given to Planes of Fame as a potential hangar ceiling hanger.Enemy Ace wrote:If you have the chance to see the construction photos you can see that the entire airplane is VERY stout. It'll be great to see this one finally take flight. I've been following progress as best I can for the past couple of years....
