World War II B-17 Model

Mon Mar 28, 2005 11:25 pm

Here are a few photos of a model of a B-17 owned by one of my coworkers. It was made during World War II(probably in 1943) by a waist gunner from the 303rd Bomb Group. An original was hand carved and used to produce a mold, the final model was cast from a melted down scrap B-17 prop blade. I did not catch the name of the modeler, I will report when I find out.

Scott, I felt this was of general interest, if you feel it belongs in the modelers forum, please move it.
